Lights, Camera, Action! Council 36 Members Featured in New Prop. 32 Video Coming to Worksites Near You!

A diverse group of the Council’s Local leaders and rank-and-file activists were videotaped recently on the importance of beating Prop. 32. The video, set to be distributed in the coming days to every Local affiliate, encourages every Council 36 member to learn the truth about this highly deceptive state initiative pretending to be about campaign finance reform.

In related news, additional members from a wide variety of Local unions participated in a day-long “campaign school” at the LA Trade Tech campus on July 14 to learn more about Prop. 32. The standing-room-only event was co-sponsored by the LA County Federation of Labor, and attracted more than two dozen Council 36 members, including from Locals 2076, 830, 585, 809, 3090, 1511, 800, 2229, and 1271. The main message of the day: Don’t let the One Percent trick you with this initiative’s phony campaign reform language! Prop. 32 is nothing less than a corporate power grab to destroy the unions in California!

Bernadine Sonnier, VP of Local 1271 will be seen in an upcoming video explaining why she will vote no on Prop. 32 in November.

You can download information about Prop. 32, including a campaign timeline, fact sheets and flyers, from the Council’s web site, at afscme36.org.
