A Message from your Bargaining Team

Dear part-time City of Diamond Bar employees,

AFSCME Local 917 will be hosting the vote for ratification for the negotiated Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Diamond Bar. The vote will be for members of AFSCME Local 917 and occur on Thursday, July 9 at 3 pm at the Maple Room at Diamond Bar Center. For those who are not yet members and would like to become one, you are welcome to join online at https://afscme.org/join/join-union/ or in person at the vote. If you're not sure if you are a member, please let us know so we can check for you!

We recommend voting "YES" to ratify this MOU. For the next 5 years, the various terms include:

Economic terms: 

• general wage increases for all bargaining unit members (7%, 2%, 2%, 2%, and 2% over the next 5 years) 
• special one-time stipend for Y-rated employees 
• bereavement leave and sick leave

Non-economic terms: 

• establishment of a joint Labor Management Committee to discuss workplace issues
• grievance procedure ensuring employees the opportunity to address work-related concerns
• disciplinary procedure for qualifying employees
