Andrew Perry

Andrew Perry was raised in Lomita, CA. He attended high school in Lakewood, CA. After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy. After traveling around the world, he returned to southern California and attended college. In college, he studied journalism and communications. 

In 2005, he began working for the City of Artesia. He immediately signed up for AFSCME Local 1520 but didn't take a leadership role until years later after attending an AFSCME International convention. He was elected as the secretary for his union and then was elected as president in 2019. He previously served as the district 4 vice president for Council 36 and was recently elected as secretary for the Council 36 Executive Board.
