Council 36 President and Executive Director hold first regional meeting

AFSCME District Council 36 President Veronica Gunn and Executive Director Matthew Maldonado hosted a special regional meeting with Local Executive Board Members in the Ontario Regional Office to discuss our priorities for 2026.
The goal for this regional meeting was to listen to each other, share ideas, and plan for a successful 2026. We discussed the Council’s and Local’s goals for 2026 and how we can build stronger unions together. We also discussed what support the Local needs from the Council and how we can make sure our priorities are aligned.
“Saturday’s leaders meeting with District officials focused on our District 36 goals for 2026 and the path forward for continued growth and impact,” said Patsy Tucker, President of AFSCME Local 4710. “They also provided an opportunity for us to share our current concerns and offered valuable ideas to help us better organize and engage our members in the community. We left the meeting feeling heard, supported, and energized about the work ahead.”
Gunn and Maldonado are planning additional regional meetings throughout Southern CA.
