MOCA Union calls on management to negotiate a fair contract

Workers at the Museum of Contemporary Art, represented by AFSCME Local 126, have been fighting for a fair contract since last summer. The bargaining team submitted a wage proposal in December but have yet to receive a response from management. This prolonged delay is concerning and unacceptable.

These workers are the backbone of MOCA. They install exhibitions, protect artwork, engage with visitors, and provide education. Their work is fundamental to the museum’s success and public reputation.

Despite this, MOCA continues to pay Local 126 members lower wages than other major museums in the Los Angeles area. Most of MOCA’s employees are unable to meet basic living costs.

We must stand in solidarity with our union siblings by demanding that MOCA management negotiate a fair contract that includes fair wage increases.

You can show your support by clicking here to send an email to MOCA’s Deputy Director Michael Harrison demanding that MOCA leadership respond to the bargaining team and negotiate wage increases in good faith.
