Steward 102 Training Recap | April 12, 2025

Congratulations to the AFSCME District Council 36 members who successfully completed the steward training series this past weekend. The steward 102 training is the final training in our 3-part series, which includes the know your rights and steward 101 training. Members learned more about the grievance process and attending an investigatory hearing. They even participated in a mock grievance hearing to feel more comfortable and confident about what they learned.

Stewards are an important part of our Locals. Stewards are leaders, organizers, communicators, and representatives. They represent and defend their fellow Union members. The steward training series provides the knowledge necessary to create strong and effective stewards, which in turn makes a union stronger. Hopefully, each of the attendees left the training feeling empowered and inspired to lead and build a sense of unity and solidarity amongst their coworkers in their union.
